To borrow an item we don't have, use our ILL Request Form.

Interlibrary Loan

Libraries often share resources to expand access to information. When the Pelham Library doesn't have an item you're looking for, we can often borrow it from another library in the state of NH or beyond. The Pelham Library currently receives deliveries of NH state interlibrary loan items twice per week, but some items may take up to 14 days to arrive. After a request is made, we contact you when it has arrived or if there is an issue with the request.

Guidelines

  • Loan Period: The length of time that you can check out an ILL item for is determined by the library that sent the item.
  • Renewals: All renewals must be approved by the library who sent the item. Please contact Pelham Library's main desk to request a renewal.
  • Limits: 5 active requests at a time, pending or received. Further requests will be held and processed when an active request is cancelled or returned. We cannot request new items (released within the last 6 months), but you can request that we purchase them!
  • Cost: Interlibrary loan is usually free. However, on rare occasions the library sending the item will charge an additional fee to cover their costs. We will notify you if this is the case and ask for your permission to charge you the fee before proceeding with the request.
  • Overdue Fine: $1.00 (one dollar) per day, per item
  • Maximum Overdue Fine: $5.00 (five dollars) per item. Replacement fees will be charged for lost items.
