100 Books Before… Challenges

Can you read 100 Books? Join this multi-year, personal reading challenge and enjoy fun perks, entries into our yearly raffles, a grand prize upon completion, expert book recommendations from our Tween and Teen Librarians, and major bragging rights! Read below for more information.

Participants can only complete the program and earn prizes one time. Each book logged must be unique – rereads cannot be counted as two separate books.

100 Books Before High School

Join our exciting initiative inviting students in grades 6-8 to embark on a journey of reading 100 BOOKS BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL! You can register at any point and read at your own comfortable pace.

Middle school introduces new responsibilities, and it's common to feel a bit overwhelmed. However, carving out time for personal enjoyment by reading books of your choice can be a refreshing escape. Our program offers the freedom to read without the pressure of assigned books or deadlines (except for completing the challenge before entering high school). Plus, there's no need for lengthy reports—read whatever you like, whenever you like!

100 Books Before Graduation

For students in grades 9-12, the goal is to conquer the challenge of reading 100 books before reaching graduation!

We understand that high school life can be hectic, with academic demands and extracurricular activities dominating your schedule. Yet, indulging in reading for pleasure, beyond your assigned class materials, offers a wonderful opportunity to slow down, escape real-life pressures, and rejuvenate by temporarily stepping outside your own world.

Feel free to sign up at any time and proceed at your preferred pace. Even if it's just a page a night, every step counts towards reaching your goal!

Prizes

Read and log 1 book in a month to be entered into our end of the year raffle for a $20 gift card to Barnes and Noble.
Read 50 Books and receive a bookmark and a new book of your choice.
Read 100 books and receive a personally curated book prize bundle.
