Research Databases:

First of all, why would I need a database? 

  • You can find citations for your papers. These count as “print” sources. Use Ebsco and Britannica.
  • You can find magazine articles from a huge selection including Consumer Reports. Use the Online Newstand.
  • You can find information about your ancestors. Use Ancestry.
  • You can browse book summaries, compare authors and find books that are like other books you have read and enjoyed. Use Novelist.

Britannica is an amazing source for Biography information, world data, World Atlas, quotations, and tons of reference information! There is even an interface just for kids! Please call or stop by the library for the password and access this from HOME!

Ebsco Host research database: Abstracts and full-text periodicals; also includes Newspaper Source, NoveList, and Eric.

Novelist- Access this awesome resource from home! Go to NoveList for advice on what to read next, awesome book reviews, and the latest books by your favorite author. Ask a librarian for the password.

Ancestry: Genealogy and local history. Full-text documents, vital records, census documents, government records. Fully printable.

NH Law Resource:

NHPubLaw.org: Created and maintained by NH State Librarians. Points to a variety of online legal resources to understand NH law, including custody issues, evictions, lead paint, and much more.
