The Artist of the Month program features local artists from the Southern NH area in the Library entryway and lobby. This wonderful program was started by a Pelham resident and allows both new and veteran artists to share their work. If you would like to participate, please email Librarian Annie Seiler.
November Artist: Christine A. Ryan
From the Artist:
In 2004 Christine A. Ryan was inspired to draw and oil paint while visiting a childhood friend on vacation. She instantaneously fell in love with oil painting. Even though she was 3,000 miles from home she purchased her first set of oil paints, brushes, and canvas, and brought them back on the plane to New Hampshire. At this point, she could not get enough of learning about art. Christine A. Ryan comes from a family with artistic talents, so it did not take her long to teach herself how to draw and paint. Christine started reading as many books as she could, borrowed instructional tapes from the library, took classes with a local artist and at the New Hampshire Institute of Art.
Christine A. Ryan started marketing her passion of art in 2008 at local galleries, fund raisers, and fine art shows in New England. Christine loves to paint just about anything. However, her focus has turned to landscapes, seascapes, and floral. Christine enjoys traveling and her recent trips to Paris, a Vineyard in Niagara Falls, Turks and Caicos, and day trips in New England have given her plenty of material to work from.
