Artist of the Month

The Artist of the Month program features local artists from the Southern NH area in the Library entryway and lobby. This wonderful program was started by a Pelham resident and allows both new and veteran artists to share their work. If you would like to participate, please email Librarian Annie Seiler.

April Artist: Corinne Dodge

From the Artist: Corinne Dodge resides in Derry, NH. Corinne works in a variety of mediums: pen and ink, watercolor, graphite, and colored pencil. Her subject matter is also varied. Beach rocks, trees, and water are a favorite. Other subjects include landscapes, portraits, and occasionally abstract works. Her work has received numerous awards from the Greater Derry Arts Council, Manchester Art in the Park Fine Arts Festival, NH Division of Parks and Recreation, Londonderry Art on the Common, and  and Monadnock Area Artists Association.

Corinne was honored to have been chosen featured artist at the 33rd Annual Beaver Brook Fall Festival Art Exhibit 2013 in Hollis, NH. At that exhibit, she demonstrated her recently discovered “stonedust color” technique in which she extracts color from stones to create her own watercolor paint. The resulting watercolor paints are then used to create paintings of multi-colored stones and rocks. The children at the festival were invited to work with Corinne to create a “stonedust” painting which will be auctioned off at next year’s festival to benefit the children’s education program at Beaver Brook.

Currently she is one of three Derry artists whose work is featured in a fine art touring exhibit, “The Road Not Taken”, inspired by the poetry of Robert Frost. Since September 2011, this exhibit has been touring libraries and community venues in southern New Hampshire and features approximately 25 works that reflect a variety of personal interpretations of the works of one of America’s most inspiring poets, Robert Frost. Additional scheduling is underway to present “The Road Not Taken” with a goal of reaching all of the public libraries in NH.

Corinne can be reached at and her work can be seen on the Derry Area Artists Collaborative website:
