For the Love of Chocolate: An Evening in the Stacks Gala

(Pelham, New Hampshire – January 9, 2013) Preparations are underway for Pelham Public Library’s First Annual Gala, For the Love of Chocolate: An Evening in the Stacks, hosted by the Friends of the Library. This event will be held Friday, February 8th from 7pm-9pm at the Pelham Public Library.
The Pelham Public Library will dim the lights and roll out the red carpet for all to enjoy a scrumptious unique evening in the stacks. Delicious chocolate treats from a variety of pastry chefs and bakeries and a chocolate fountain will be some of the choices in the dessert buffet. Live entertainment featuring performances by classical guitarist Charlie Christos and the Windy Hill Jazz Ensemble will be enjoyed. Local Pelham authors will be honored and on hand to talk about and sign their books.
The finale of this event will be the raffles. The Friends of the Library will give away fabulous gifts including movie tickets, a custom kid’s birthday party hosted by Children’s Librarian Miss Debbie, gift certificates for a massage and gift certificates to a hair salon. The highlight of the raffle is a relaxing two night get-away to the beautiful Anchorage Inn in York Beach which includes dinner for two.
“It’s our goal to create an anticipated annual Gala event. It will be a fun night out for people to enjoy live music, sample delicious food and possibly win a great gift,” said Gloria Walsh, President of the Friends of the Library.
Funds from the event will benefit library programing. “We’re hoping to bring more scholarly lectures, create an adult crafters group, and have a wider variety of Children’s events of the caliber of the African Drummers seen here at the library last summer,” said Corinne Chronopoulos, Library Director.
Businesses and individuals can lend their support to the Library through Gala sponsorship, individual ticket purchases, and by participating in the Library’s Raffle.
