The Big Read: NH reads Edgar Allan Poe

Pelham Public Library is participating in The Big Read! We’ll be focusing on the works of Edgar Allan Poe through book clubs, special programs and activities for all ages! Stay tuned for our full schedule of events. Here are the plans so far:

September Book Club reads Edgar Allan Poe selected works
Read the works at your own pace throughout the month. We’ll get together for a spooky discussion on October 4, 2012 @ 6:30pm.

Poe Poe Poe! Stories and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe by Kathryn Schultz Miller
October 9, 2012 @ 7pm
This reader’s theatre production incorporates scenes from the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe including The Tell-Tale Heart, Masque of the Red Death, Annabel Lee and The Raven. Presented by Eclectic Entertainment.
Juvenile Book Club
October 16, 2012 3:30-4:30pm
Join us to discuss The Raven by Poe. We’ll think about the words he used, the symbolism, and leave with a deeper understanding of this great poet.

Haunted Trail and reading of The Raven
October 25, 2012 4:30-7:30
Join us outside to walk the trail and read the eerily illuminated text of The Raven as you go. Then join us back inside for a Halloween Party and special treats.
